If you need a copy, e-books are available for $6.99 on-line. If you don't manage to read it but are interested in the discussion, you are still welcome :-).

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Let's Talk About the Holidays!

Open Table Faith has invited some wise friends to share learning and lived experience that can help us have mentally healthier holidays.

We'll cover things that often hang us up when it comes to big days and large family gatherings -- like the pull of nostalgia & the weight of expectation; the clash of differing political positions and evolving belief systems. We'll offer some brain science that helps us better understand ourselves -- and the chance to practice a different way of dealing.

It's all real talk for real-life relationships! ...It's also an hour to gather and breathe deep, to share hopes and set our best intentions.

This is a free event. Find us on the First Christian Church campus, in the Life Center building. Enter through the smaller, south-side doors, where you'll see the Open Table Faith banner.

Black Friday Protest

We are gonna be spread out, to several shopping areas. In groups of 5-10. The goal is to be sending messages of equality and the cost of corporate greed in America.

We live in a consumer society where it is all about "me". We believe in equality and supporting small local business'. The wealth gap in America has seen a DRAMATIC increase. Making a decent living and becoming wealthy isn't always unethical. However, not at the cost of the employees not earning fair wages or being provided ethical working conditions. Many large corporations are benefiting through "corporate welfare". Many of these large companies are not paying living wages, and the US government in turn has to pay to provide housing, medical care and food assistance. That is not equality. That is crap. And the middle class is footing the bill.

We will be meeting at the library and forming teams and sending them out to various locations around Longview.

No Kings 2

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings.

Join Indivisible Smith County & ETX Organizing Coalition for No Kings 2!

Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.

The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.

#BoycottElon Campaign National Organizing Call

Across the country, communities are rising up against Elon Musk’s companies—Tesla, SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter), and others—that have become key pillars of Trump’s political machine. Musk isn’t just a billionaire CEO; he’s a megadonor fueling authoritarian power.

During this call, the ResistTrump Campaign (www.resisttrump.us) will convene organizers and aspiring organizers of Musk-focused resistance to share strategies, swap stories, and plan coordinated lawful, nonviolent protests of Musk’s businesses and enablers.

Whether you’re an experienced organizer or just beginning to explore movement leadership, this call is for you. We’ll cover: - Proven tactics for local actions against Tesla, SpaceX, and other Musk companies - How to connect your protest to the national movement - Legal and safety considerations for nonviolent protest - Building creative, high-visibility campaigns that get noticed

This is a space to learn, collaborate, and take action together. Let’s hold Musk accountable—and build a stronger resistance, one community at a time.

On this call, you’ll be able to connect with others who are:

  • Leading or joining local ICE protest campaigns

  • Learning effective, nonviolent tactics for resisting ICE facilities and operations

  • Building solidarity with immigrant communities

  • Coordinating creative actions that highlight ICE as a pillar of the Trump regime

This is your place to learn, collaborate, and take bold, lawful action. Together, we can resist ICE and weaken the authoritarian system it supports.
